Completion of "Crow"

Happy to announce the completion of "The Crow Shook Down A Dust of Snow yesterday. Preparing for binding and printing. This will be the first publication of orchestral music for Masterson Press.

Happy New Year to ALL!

Final Touches on new work

Final edits on the orchestral piece "The Crow Shook Down a Dust of Snow" marks a meticulous and gratifying process. What a great journey I had taken composing that piece. Ready for production Jan 1st.

More "THORN" recording with THORN

Andrea Todaro, the delightful and talented Buffalo soprano, and I are set to revisit the Lighthouse Studio this November. During our session, she'll be capturing the essence of two arias of the opening act of my opera, THORN: "My Garden" and "Midnight Moon."

Marcangelo Perricelli's "House On Edison"

Marcangelo Perricelli's "House on Edison”, his 14th release on the Masterson Records label, is a groundbreaking exploration of ambient music that breaks free from stereotypes, immersing listeners in lush sonic landscapes. It effortlessly bridges the gap between noise and silence, offering solace to its audience.

Perricelli's ambient tradition involves extended notes and chord lingering, creating sonic variation by altering sound timbres through new instruments and electronic filters. This approach results in a dynamic, evolving sonic palette that keeps listeners engaged throughout the album.

The use of "Synthestral Music," a term coined by Perricelli, introduces a contemporary electronic dimension to the album's sonic landscape. Each track takes the listener on a sonic journey through Perricelli's meticulous manipulation of sound elements, including lush pads, orchestral percussion, and occasionally eerie overtones. The album invites exploration of diverse auditory landscapes, evoking a sense of ritual and immersion.

Within this collection of 21 pieces are 7 works scored for the video series "Requiem for the Dolls" by Char Szabo-Perricelli. Each doll represents a cross-section of humanity and societal struggles. Perricelli's "Suite" poignantly captures the mood of each dolls’ tragedy.

In summary, "House on Edison" by Marcangelo Perricelli defies conventions in ambient music, offering a transformative journey through lush soundscapes and textured atmospheres. It showcases Perricelli's innovative approach to music, revealing his mastery of storytelling through sound.

A bird in the studio...

I was my extreme pleasure to welcome Buffalo's own soprano, Andrea Todaro into the studio mix and bringing her vocal talents on the track “Here I am” from the first act, first scene of my opera THORN. She captured the essence and beauty of the character through her voice and I can't wait for you all to here it.

Also present were executive producers Rick Catanese of Lighthouse Studio and Stephen Dillon of Segno Music Inc.

THORN... IT'S PURE MAGIC

I started writing my opera THORN for orchestra about 2 years ago. I had attempted in previous years to arrange my musical ideas for my rock band but it just didn't work. So, I began spending time developing the protagonist and her character and on finalizing the storyline. While all that was happening, I began to seriously brush up my orchestration skills.

I have every intention to have the opera completed by Winter of 2023 and I will also be demoing different arias in the recording studio. There's much more work ahead and I’m loving every minute of it.
